During the lockdown many of the music industries renowned artists become more accessible and available for interviews as they not touring the globe and performing night after night. I took the opportunity to catch up with the amazingly talented Lindsey Webster. Lindsey has just released her fifth studio album – A Woman Like Me – on the 27th March 2020.
I first interviewed Lindsey back in 2018 following the release of her fourth album – Love Inside. I must confess, I felt nervous for Lindsey and her writing partner, the multi-talented Keith Slattery as they had set the bar so high with their last album release. How could they top that ! But they went to work with an awesome set list, incredible arrangements, amazing production and surrounded themselves with some of the best players in the industry including Nathan East, Vinnie Colaiuta, Luis Conte and Mike DeMicco.
The result is this that – A Woman Like Me – hits it clean out the park ! Whether this is your first time hearing Lindsey’s music or you have been a fan like me since the self titled debut album in 2013, this is a must for any music lover. Lindsey and Keith have released yet another album that any music virtuoso would be incredibly proud of.
Lindsey explains, “I don’t know how, but it seems that with each album we get better than the last,” The fact that Keith and I have worked together meticulously since day one has really helped give our sound its uninhibited originality”.
