Paul Clark’s Chuck Brown Remix Hits Top 40!
Congratulations to Zero Radio’s Brighton DJ Paul Clark for reaching the Hyperedit top 40 with the new hot summer remix of ‘North Laine Sombrero’
Lets step back to 1979 in the UK, when a personal music player would of cost around £170 to buy and genres of music seemed a little confusing for the essential clubber. But not for one such clubber, Paul Clark, who progressed from early day music collecting to now Brighton’s big name UK Disco & Funky House DJ’s as well as having a very strong ‘ear’ for good soulful & house tunes’ – So the early days for Paul was to capture the moment when he first heard = Chuck browns album titled ‘Bustin’ Loose’, which was as Paul explains a ‘Go Go LP’, one elusive track on the album was a latin track called Berro e Sombero.
Paul commented “as an avid music fan, this was a massive track for me at Papillion in Brighton and it has been forever in my memory”
The Time Was Now!
Lets go forward to 2018,
Paul still had plans to one day pay tribute to Chuck Brown, & remix the track’ after not forgetting it all them years back, so in 2018 that time had come. Paul put the plan in place, the team was Russell Small (Phats & Small / Freemasons) and Dino Psara’s to create a remixed, thumpin’ house version of the track in style very similar to current remixer producers Junior Jack/ Dr Packer and others.
Produced by North Laine, “Sombrero” has already been played in Ibiza, South Africa and up and down the UK including airtime on UK Soul & House radio stations.
So to hit the Hyperedit top 40 in the last 4 weeks of its release is expected, the tune has become the carnival summer anthem. Lets get it to number 1!
