His love for music and D.Jing began whilst at senior school and he was determined to become a DJ.
His first major break was whilst working behind the bar @ Zero 6 nightclub Southend, when he was asked if he would like to join the D.J Team this in 1978 stepped up a level when he became the resident D.J.
From this day on in the words of Ian ….. “ the fairytale began ”… getting paid for playing the music that has become the anthems played on Zero Radio that he truly loves.
1978 – 1988 were undoubtedly the “ Glory Years” of Zero 6, Ian then moved onto clubs like TOTS, Dukes, P’Zaz, Hollywoods & Kings all major clubs in Essex, before going onto own his own club in Southend.
His Career has taken him to great heights within the music industry working with the likes of Frankie Beverley & Maze, Lisa Stansfield, Bobby Womack, Fat Larry’s Band, Loose Ends, Fatback band just to name a few, also touring with Light Of The World, 5 Star, Alexander O’Neal and more recently his good friend KENNY THOMAS plus many more.
He has appeared at many of the soul weekenders including CAISTER, All the PRESTATYNS, BOGNER, SKEGNESS to name just a few.
In 2009 Ian turned to Merv Griffiths with an idea – That idea has grown and grown and is now the very reason you are reading this, It’s Called ZERO RADIO !
